Early Childhood Education STAR and Gateway Programme

To start students off with their ECE studies, PORSE has grouped relevant unit standards into packages – each package contains three unit standards. While making it easier for schools to choose a programme for their students, schools will also receive a discount by purchasing each student a package rather than purchasing one unit standard at a time. Individual unit standards will still be available to purchase at the standard rate. Competent students still have the opportunity to complete more unit standards and this is encouraged by PORSE. As students progress their studies, schools will have the choice to purchase their students another package or to purchase unit standards individually. On leaving school, students can continue their study with PORSE in order to gain the National Certificate in Early Childhood Education & Care (Level 3). This will be done on a user pays basis directly with PORSE as a tertiary learner.
